Slazenger The Renshaw
(documented or estimated)
In 1899, the Berlin sporting goods supplier and manufacturer Steidl sold an anniversary batch of the Slazenger The Renshaw. In honor of the scene's first superstar William Renshaw, 10 years after his last Wimbledon title in 1889. The racquet has an elongated oval shape and the classic pre-1898 Slazenger stringing pattern. Fine patina.
